Oil on canvas, 1989, signed 'Padien' and dated on the reverse.
24 x 60 in., unframed.
Note: This painting hung prominently above Didion's rattan chair in her NYC living room. Artist Bill Padien worked at Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles after graduating from Parsons, eventually being promoted to curator in their L.A. studio. After moving back to the East Coast in 1989, Padien stayed on with Gemini in their NYC studio as a consultant. He and his wife then settled full-time on Block Island where he opened an art gallery and continues to paint.
