Note: A similar inkstand sold by The Trustees of The Harewood Charitable Trust, Christie's, London, April 10, 1986, lot 58. Another one was sold in the same rooms on November 19, 1992, lot 5, and a further example with the coat of arms of George Pochin, Barkby Hall or Edmondthorpe Hall, Leicestershire, was sold on July 7, 1994, lot 5.

Condition

Overall wear. Surface losses overall, more extensive to the chamberstick. The mounts detached from the cut glass vessels, the sander with a chip to the foot and other losses. A few minor age splits to the wood. Otherwise in good condition.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
