Oil on canvas, signed 'William E. Pimm' lower right. 15 1/4 x 23 in. (sight), 21 1/2 x 29 1/2 in. (frame). Note: Purves (1843-1918) was a doctor by profession but lived for golf. He helped establish the Royal Wimbledon and Royal St. George's clubs. He was also a champion of ladies golf, helping to form the Lady's Golf Union with Issette Pearson. He won his final golf trophy at age 71, playing with a handicap of three. Condition: In very good condition. Framed under glass. Not examined out of frame.,
