Note: Scottish artist Will Maclean references his years as a midshipman, and later as a fisherman, in his mixed-media constructions. His works incorporate materials and imagery that represent his affinity for, and understanding of, the life of sailors and those who live by, and make a living from, the sea. His constructions are made of scavenged bits of wood, bone and other found items from ships.
