Initialed on the underside: 'W.E.' and dated '1953'.

Note: Wharton Esherick (1887-1970), 'If it isn't fun, it isn't worth doing,' was first a painter, then a sculptor and furniture maker.
Condition
The walnut top with wear including scuffing, nicks, fading and staining. There is a very lightly carved 'ZIG FELT' added to the seat later. Darkened wood and scratches to the underside of the top encircling the engraved initials and date. The stained wood legs are also scuffed and nicked. Structurally sound. In generally good condition.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
Collection from Stair
