Two oil on canvas, signed 'Hartson' lower left and right respectively, both titled on the stretcher, lined.

Both 16 1/4 x 20 1/4 in., 18 3/4 x 22 3/4 in. (frame).

Note: Born in Iowa, Walter Hartson settled in Wassaic, NY in 1917 where he painted the landscape of his surroundings in the Hudson Valley and Litchfield County, CT. Though his personal practice focused mainly on the landscape genre, including coastal views near Old Lyme, CT, Hartson participated in the WPA Project in the 1930s where he painted views of historical buildings. 

Condition
