A box with mark of Edward Smith, Birmingham, 1853, engraved with crest and inscribed 'from an old friend'

A box with mark of John Mitchell, Glasgow, 1821, inscribed 'From a Friend To Mr. John McLeod 1837'

Together with:

A box, apparently unmarked, inscribed '1878 Dr. James Low To James Caldwell June 1811'

An egg form silver nutmeg grater, apparently unmarked, monogrammed

The Edward Smith box 3 1/4 in. wide, 6.6 oz. approx. gross weight.

Condition

The first two boxes have been weighed and are 6.6 oz approx. gross weight. Each with wear and oxidation consistent with use. The third box tested for lower grade silver and is 2 oz. and with wear and oxidation consistent with age and use. Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
