The papier mache top has some large cracks and craquelure to its surface, including one crack across the lowest figures and another curved vertically up through the trees and across their tops. The edges are painted with scrolling gilded decoration which is rubbed back in places.  Repairs to the apron visible on the underside. The latch for the tilt top functions. The turned ebonized wood base in generally good condition although it has some separating of the joints where the legs meet the base. Structurally sound.
