90 x 46 in., 94 x 50 in. (frame).

Note: This full-length portrait represents Antoine Philippe d’Orleans, a brother of Louis-Philippe, in the uniform of lieutenant-general at the moment of the battle of Jemmapes where he fought alongside his brother in 1792. In 1834, a smaller bust-length portrait of Antoine-Philippe was commissioned for 300 francs and entered the collection of King Louis-Philippe at Versailles and was exhibited at the Salon of 1835. The full-length portrait was originally housed at the Chateau d’Eu, a former royal residence in Normandy. A copy of the full-length portrait was made in 1840 and is currently in the collection of the musée du Chateau de Compiegne.
