The ovoid body with tapering neck 8 1/2 in. tall; the rectangular bottle 7 3/4 in. tall.

Note: The square bottle is listed in the bibliography in the Parke Bernet catalog of February 25, 1971; D. Charlesworth, Roman Square Bottles, Journal of Glass Studies, Vol. III, Corning, 1966. According to the catalog note vessels of this kind were intended for storage and transport, thus their sturdy and compact form.

Condition

The ovoid vessel in good overall condition with dirt encrustation and iridescence residue. Very minor rim nicks and surface scuffing. The green bottle with surface residue and scuffing throughout. Both in good overall condition.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
