The brown border rug with 'Grenfell Labrador Industries' label and each with burlap backing border.
The brown border rug 14 1/4 x 49 in., the black border 14 1/2 x 48 in.
Note: Rugs or mats of this size were often used as footstool covers. There are also references to their use as piano stool covers. As the same designs were distributed and hooked by different women throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, comparing two rugs of the same design highlights the various color and composition choices made by individuals.
