Note: In an effort to create expanding demand, by 1930 mats were designed as book covers, purses, coasters and seat cushions. Similar designs to these two covers are illustrated in Paula Laverty's Silk Stocking Mats (McGill-Queen's Press, 2005) on p. 158.

Condition
Minor wear with some fading consistent with age and use. Some slight fraying along the edges. The seagull cover backed on board which is no longer attached to frame. Otherwise in good condition.
