Each mounted on custom stand, possibly by Daniel Muller (1872-1952), Philadelphia, PA.
The larger 13 1/2 x 11 in. x 3 in. (overall).
Note: Daniel C. Muller, born 1872, was considered one of Dentzel Carousel Company's best carvers before he and his brother, Alfred Muller, left to form their own company, the D.C. Muller & Brother Company in 1903. Muller's horses are beautifully formed and modeled in the round with great attention placed on muscle and bone structure. Muller's regard for detail is best exemplified in his series of U.S. 10th Cavalry Horses. Muller is known to have made clay or wooden models for special orders on more important figures, such as this lot.
