Note: Tseng Yu-ho, known as Betty Ecke to her family, was one of the preeminent Chinese painters of the 20th century. Her work employs the dsui painting technique which combines mixed media with collage and is deeply rooted in the classical Chinese tradition. In addition to mastering the skills of brush and ink, calligraphy, seal carving and scroll mounting, Yu-ho was an academic with deep knowledge of both Eastern and Western art history.
