Note: One of Didion's publishers was Alfred A. Knopf. Knopf's editor-in-chief and chairman of Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group was Sonny Mehta who was a dear friend of Didion's. Mehta was part of Didion's inner circle, attending her birthday parties and holiday gatherings.
