Linocut in colors on Japan, 1977, signed and titled in pencil, numbered 1/60.
14 1/4 x 7 3/8 in. (sheet), unframed.
Note: English-Canadian artist Sybil Andrews is best-known for her printmaking, specializing in linoleum cut prints after their surge in popularity in England in the 1930s. Andrews and her architect husband, Cyril Power, worked at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art and were influenced by the school's teachings in Futurism and Vorticism. The dynamism of these movements can be seen in her linocuts which she made using everyday materials such as umbrella ribs to gouge the linoleum, and wooden spoons to apply the ink to the paper.
