Comprising:

A pair of armchairs, 36 1/4 x 25 x 21 1/2 in., seat height 20 1/ 2in.

Set of ten side chairs, 36 x 19 x 18 1/2 in., seat height 20 1/2 in.

Note: These chairs bear a close resemblance to the set of chairs designed by Philip Hardwick and made by the firm of Wilkinsons for the Goldsmiths Hall in the City of London in 1834. Sources for Greek ornament suitable for furniture were provided by a series of publications including George Smith's A Collection of Ornamental Designs, after the Manner of the Antique, 1812, and Ackerman's Selection of Ornaments, of 1817 to 1819.

Condition

In good overall condition with minor nicks predominately along the feet and wear. The tufted silk upholstery in good condition. Two small old repairs to the backrests. One armchair faded on the reverse. All structurally sound and ready to place.
