Upholstered in silk damask.
The Armchairs, 38 1/2 x 28 1/4 x 24 1/2 in., seat height 18 1/2 in.
The Side Chairs, 38 3/4 x 22 1/2 x 32 1/2 in., seat height 19 in.
The Three Side Chairs Exhibited: New York, Sherry's, The League Antiques Exhibition, 15-24 March 1944, ref. 407. A mahogany armchair and side chair of this model are illustrated in H. Cescinsky, English Furniture of the Eighteenth Century, vo. II, p. 85, fig. 5-7.
Condition
The three period side chairs with expected nicks, and wear, particularly to the legs. One with an old repair to the top rail. The twelve style chairs are in good overall condition with minor wear throughout. Pale staining to the majority of the seats. All structurally sound. Beautifully carved.
