Composed of a wooden skeleton overlaid by cloth, now mounted on a stand.
Overall: 31 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 3/4 in.
Note: The Kafigelejo figure is a ritualistic object used to get to the truth. This figure gives visual representation to the invisible busla spirits and functions as a divination device. Kafigelejo divination is used to uncover misdeeds, false testimony and culpability. Although such works have the potential to affect all members of a Senufo community, access to this oracle is restricted to the most enlightened senior male and occasionally, female members, who keep it shrouded in secrecy.
