Note: Samuel Walker was born in England where he first exhibited at The Royal Academy c. 1850. He immigrated to the United States after 1852, working as a portrait and landscape painter in New York, New Orleans and San Francisco, where he worked until 1873. His date of death is not known. Along with his portrait work, Walker painted marine views and seascapes.
