Etching in black on cream wove paper, inscribed '1st trail proof 1st state' in pencil. 13 x 9 1/4 in. (sight), 22 x 17 3/4 in. (frame). Note: Andrew Kirkaldy (1860-1934) was a professional Scottish golfer. He is credited with predicting the greatness of golfer John Henry Taylor after losing a match to him in 1891. Three years after beating Kirkaldy, Taylor became the first Englishman to win the Open Championship. Condition: With margins. An erased inscription lower left. A few creases at the left edge. Otherwise apparently in good condition. Not examined out of frame.,
