Catalogue note from Bruun-Rasmussen sale in 2006: "An extremely well-made French copy of the famed suit of parade armour made by Etienne Delaune for the French King Henri II, now in the Louvre in Paris. The complete armour in 16th century style is completely covered with raised design showing antique warriors in battle and resting with the winged Goddess of Victory over a trophy on the back plate. Some of the items are cast and some are hammered out and the parts are held together with bolts. It cannot be worn, but it is a magnificent piece probably by the Lorraine master Antoine Vechte (1799-1868). He must have had access to the original order to make the fine castings, which follows the original in every detail."
