Watercolor on paper, 1971, signed 'Patrick Procktor' lower right.
12 x 16 in. (sheet), 19 1/2 x 23 1/2 in. (frame).
Note: Alongside David Hockney, Patrick Procktor was part of an influential group of British artists in the 1960s. His work focused on slightly abstract depictions of the male nude and would evolve into further exploration of the human figure with an emphasis on the physical act of painting. In the late 1960s, Procktor began to work in watercolor as a way to simplify his subjects. His watercolor portraits would become some of his best and most critically acclaimed works.
