Both sides are carved with winged lion monopodia supports and centered with fruiting cornucopias and winged eagles.

34 1/4 x 44 x 7 in.

Note: Trapezophoroi were used in early Roman houses as leg supports for a marble table top. The top could have been a single slab or an elaborately inlaid micro-mosaic or pietra dura panel. They were generally used in an atrium of a wealthy family's house. 

Condition

One with more age splits, losses, old repairs and  small nicks throughout. Wear is consistent with age and use. Impressive scale and nicely carved.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
