Note: Another a similar pair of vases to this design were formerly in the possession of Sir Stuart Knill, cousin of Jane Knill, Pugin's third wife. The Knill vases, now in an English private collection, were sold at Sotheby's London, November 29, 1984, Lot 204. A sideboard made for Knill in the same sale (Lot 212) is now in the collection of the Palace of Westminster (Lord Chancellor's residence). A third pair of vases were included in the exhibition "Pugin: a Gothic Passion," Victoria & Albert Museum, 1994.
Minor wear, some abrasions. A few losses and inpainting to the enamel. Otherwise in good condition.
