Note: The collector's mark on this drawing is that of Mathilde Valet (Lught 2665a). Valet was Cassatt's housekeeper and helped the artist run her personal and business affairs. Cassatt left her atelier to Valet in her will. Valet sold most of the collection at auction a year later in an anonymous sale at Hôtel Drouot in Paris, now referred to as the Mathilde X sale.
