Note: American artist Manuel Neri is a member of the 'second generation' Bay Area Figurative Movement. Neri studied under Richard Diebenkorn and Elmer Bischoff at the California School of Fine Arts. Neri is known for his 'painterly' figurative sculptures in plaster, bronze and marble. He is also a noted draftsman and has collaborated on several artist's books that combine drawing with poetry (see lot 445).
