The two-volume set of chromolithographs with text, 1903, published by Imprimerie Typographique Veuve Monnon, Brussels, loose as issued, Tome 1 with text pages and the mounted photogravure, Tome 2 with 172 chromolithographs, original green linen-covered boards. 25 x 17 in. (sheet). Note: A respected scientist and illustrator, Rodriques travelled widely in Brazil between 1868 and 1897, gathering botanical specimens and furthering his anthropological studies. In 1889, he was appointed director of the botanical garden in Rio de Janeiro. This portfolio was issued in one edition, in 1903, as here, and is considered the most comprehensive work on the palm trees of Brazil.,
