Note: Jean Hugo and his wife, Lauretta, lived in the South of France near John Richardson and Douglas Cooper and the couples socialized often. Lauretta and Richardson were friends from London. Jean Hugo was the great-grandson of Victor Hugo. The Hugos lived at Mas de Fourques, in Lunel, where they produced a dessert wine, Muscat de Lunel, which had been a favorite drink of Louis XIV.

Condition

Very pale light- and mat staining. Some scattered foxing. Remains of old brown paper tape at the reverse of the bottom sheet edge.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.Â
