Raised on a marble base.

The foundry label on the reserve, 'Giulio de Petra, Sabatini de Angelis and Sons, Naples'.

30 x 15 1/2 x 12 in.

Note: The original bronze bust of above offered lot was discovered in Herculaneum and is now in the Archaeological Museum in Naples, Italy. Giulio de Petra a well-known archaeologist (Pompeii and Herculaneum) was also the director of the Archaeological Museum in Naples. He authorized the copies of ancient works for the foundry.

Condition

There is a 4 inch chip to the right side of the marble base with minor nicks. Slightly uneven patination throughout. Nicely cast.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.Â
