The foundry label on the reserve, 'Giulio de Petra, Sabatini de Angelis and Sons, Naples'.

Note: The original bronze bust of above offered lot was discovered in Herculaneum and is now in the Archaeological Museum in Naples, Italy. Giulio de Petra a well-known archaeologist (Pompeii and Herculaneum) was also the director of the Archaeological Museum in Naples. He authorized the copies of ancient works for the foundry.
