Oil on canvas, unsigned, lined, with label from E. Radclyffe, London and two paper labels variously inscribed.

98 x 58 in. , 120 x 71 in. (frame).

Note: The frame is late George II carved giltwood with egg-and-dart borders and scrolled cresting. The cartouche at center is the Wyndham family crest. The crest can also be seen in the painting lower left.

Charles Edwin Wyndham succeeded his mother at Llanvihangel, Cowbridge, Glamorgan. He was Member of Parliament for Westminster and later for Glamorgan. His son, Thomas Wyndham, of Dunraven Castle, Glamorgan, was also Member of Parliament for Glamorgan.

Condition

Lined. Edge of canvas visible around the edges and irregularly trimmed at top. Some craquelure and surface soiling. A large area of inpainting upper left quadrant. Other scattered areas of inpainting, some affecting the faces.
