Together with a group of four Coptic textile fragments, unframed.
Largest Frame: 11 3/4 x 11 1/4 in.; the fragment: 8 x 7 1/2 in.
Largest unframed fragment: 5 x 4 1/8 in. Note: These are fragments from Coptic funerary robes woven in the Fayuum area of Egypt and date from the 2nd or 3rd century AD. Originally part of a collection of 38 fragments purchased in Cairo. Twenty pieces from that collection are now housed in a museum near Rome.
