6 ft. 11 in. x 7 ft. 5 1/2 in. Note: Simon Vouet designed tapestries for the Gobelin factory. The baroque subject matter is very typical of his work. He was a premier painter to King Louis XIII. Louis XIII commissioned portraits, tapestry cartoons and paintings from him for the Palais du Louvre, Palais du Lexembourg and Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

Rebacked. Wear is consistent with age and use. Areas of reweaving and areas where the threads have degraded. General fading and wear throughout.
