Note: The sitters in this portrait are Johannes Knickerbacker (1751-1827) and his wife Elizabeth Winne (1752-1826). William Kelly Simpson's mother, Helen-Louise Knickerbacker Porter Simpson was a descendant of Johannes and Elizabeth Knickerbacker on her mother's side of the family.
