Note: The Alhambra is a palace complex in Granada, Spain. It was originally constructed as a fortress in 889 AD, then rebuilt in the thirteenth century as a palace by the Moorish emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333 and became home to the royal court of Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492.
