Note: The original "China case," upon which this cabinet's design is based, once belonged to Queen Victoria's father. The design was originally published in Chippendale's The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director in 1754.
Condition
In good overall condition. The interior is fitted with silk moire with three shelves in the middle section and two shelves on the flanking cabinets. Scattered age splits and minor repairs to the gilded fretwork and decorations to the front of the cabinet. Minor nicks and very few age splits to the mahogany frame. With three keys. Of grand scale, ready to place.
