Note: George Condo and Donald Baechler were friends who came up in the New York art world together in the early 1980s as part of the burgeoning East Village art scene. They showed together at the Pat Hearn Gallery, alongside friends Philip Taaffe and Peter Schuyff, and shared a summer house and a studio space where they worked side-by-side and often on the same painting or drawing.
