Note: Working in varying media and rejecting traditional materials, Georg Herold creates sculptures and assemblages that reference art history and cultural issues yet remain ambiguous and open to interpretation. Along with Albert Oehlen and Martin Kippenberger, Herold studied under Sigmar Polke in Hamburg, part of a generation of German artists that were considered subversive, provocative and influential.
