Note: Dzubas' monotypes from the 1980s are considered some his most interesting work from the period. Allowing him to create large works on paper, the monotype technique provided a link between preparatory drawing and works on canvas. The director of the Dzubas Estate Archives, Patricia L. Lewy, has suggested that this work relates to Dzubas' important work titled Beginning from 1983.
