The first Louis Mountbatten, First Earl Mountbatten of Burma and his wife Edwina Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, signed on the mount respectively as "Dickie" and "Edwina," inscribed in Edwina's hand "A souvenir of India," dated 1948 (15 x 10 3/4 in., frame); the second Coronation Portrait of King George V and Queen Mary, signed on the mount and dated 1911, in a silver plate frame (21 x 15 1/2 in., frame); the third Queen Victoria working in the gardens at Frogmore attended by Sheikh Chidda (8 3/4 x 11 in., frame); the fourth Queen Victoria in a pony carriage with Princess Christian and Princess Frederica of Hanover, attended by John Brown (14 3/4 x 18 3/4 in., frame); the fifth a Victorian Christmas Display 1900 Durbar Room, Osborne House (13 1/4 x 15 in., frame). Provenance: The first: The Estate of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Doyle New York, 13 September 2011, lot 258. Condition: The first not examined out of frame, appears to be in overall good condition with minor wear, the frame with some scratches, one deep across the top. The second not examined out of frame, appears to be in overall good condition with minor wear, the frame with extensive wear to the silver plate and an element lacking from the top. The third not examined out of frame, appears to be in overall good condition with minor wear, the frame with some scratches. The fourth not examined out of frame, appears to be in overall good condition with minor rippling to the image, the plexi with some scratches.The fifth not examined out of frame, appears to be in overall good condition with minor wear.,
