With an arched cornice centered by a foliate scroll fitted with a giltwood Atlas finial flanked by winged nymphs, surmounted by a gilt figure of Atlas flanked by a pair of winged nymphs, above the clock face with an engraved steel and brass dial , signed 'Ian de Haan, Alkmaar', with Roman numerals and an outer ring of Arabic numerals. The inner dial indicating seconds with separate windows showing the day of the week, month, date and the lunar calendar and the phases of the moon, above the automated shadow box representing the town of Alkmaar, flanked by gilt-metal-mounted pilasters, above the case with canted corners and a rococo cartouche centered by the gilt-metal-mounted pendulum window featuring Father Time, the case inlaid with floral marquetry, above the bombé base, ending on paw feet.
