Note: A similar example of the above offered lot was sold at Sotheby's, NY in 1998 in the Howard and Catherine Feldman Collection. The Feldman horse is virtually identical except for the serrated treatment of the mane and tail. this model is also illustrated in Robert Bishop and Patricia Coblentz, A Gallery of American Weathervanes and Whirligigs, pg. 69, fig. 113. And another identical horse with slightly less serrated decoration on the tail and mane sold at Northeast Auctions, August 2008, The Schnall Collection, lot 972.

Condition

In good overall condition. The molded copper with weathered verdigris surface and traces of gilding.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
