Stamped; watch dial is marked 'PM 954', music movement is also marked 'PM 954 73'; the double hinged winged box with one well opening to an enamel watch dial within the blue enameled border and gold surround, the other a well, above the conforming cobalt blue and white enamel border, the underside decorated with a cobalt reserve, centered by a butterfly within an engraved trailing vine border, with two keys and in its original fitted leather case. 5/8 x 2 7/8 x 1 3/4 in.Exhibited: A very similar bejeweled enameled butterfly box by Piquet and Meylan was exhibited by Au Vieux Paris during the Paris Biennale des Antiquaires in 2014, see the exhibition catalogue, page 122 - 123. Possibly made for the Chinese market.
