Note: A nearly identical model is illustrated in Pierre Kjellberg, 1997, Encyclopedia de La Pendule Francaise du Moyen Age au XX siecle, pg. 191, pl. G. And noted that an identical model to the illustrated cartel clock is in the Louvre with a dial signed by Ferdinand Berthoud and is made with a barometer.
The above offered lot has a more refined urn and a single berried laurel swag covering the glass window. All the other elements are exactly the same as the aforementioned cartel clock.
Condition
In good condition with an age split and very tiny nicks to the keyholes on the dial. Scattered wear to the ormolu throughout. Fitted with a pendulum and key, appears to be in working condition.
