Note: Fidelma Cadmus was part of the artistic and social circle of her brother, artist Paul Cadmus, along with Jared French, Pavel Tchelitchew and the photographer George Platt Lynes. At a party hosted by Lynes in 1939, Fidela met Lincoln Kirstein, whom she would marry in 1941. Kirstein founded the School of American Ballet, now known as the New York City Ballet, with choreographer George Balanchine.
