Note: This sewing table was referred to in the November 1931 catalog of the Roland V. Vaughn Collection at the Anderson Galleries. At the time of that sale an accompanying letter, now lost, stated: "This sewing table was originally the property of Elizabeth Clarke Greene, who was the daughter of John Singleton Copley, the artist. The table afterwards came into the possession of Mrs. F. Gordon Dexter, granddaughter of Elizabeth Greene, and finally into the possession of Miss Anna Bauer, from whom this history comes."
