The painted and enameled wood dial signed 'R. WHITING, WINCHESTER'. With wooden gears, a pendulum and two weights. 

6 ft. 11 in. x 17 3/4 x 10 1/4 in.

Note: Riley Whiting (1785-1835) was a clockmaker in Winchester, Connecticut who was initially apprenticed under the Hoadleys in Plymouth, Connecticut. 

Condition

Some craquelure and chipping to the painted clock face. Some painting refreshed, including the maker's name. Area around the number '8' chipped and overpainted. Seam separations. Areas of later filled nail holes now discolored. Handle probably replaced. Scuffing, nicks and dents particularly to the base. Otherwise in good condition.
