Note: This drawing was used as the basis for Rops' lithograph titled En Ardenne, from 1857 (see L'Oeuvre lithographié de Félicien Rops, Ramiro, no. 90). Scholars have identified this image as a possible source for works by both Gauguin and Van Gogh with similar subjects of seated, brooding women.

Condition

Creasing and small losses at the sheet corners. Staining. Remains of old glue and small skinned spots on the reverse.
