Note: Born in Kassel, Germany to American parents, Erik Haupt studied art at the Royal Academy in Munich, Germany, L'Academie Julien and L'Academie Colarossi, Paris, and the Maryland Institute in Baltimore, MD. Haupt's studio was in New York City for over fifty years, eventually retiring to his home in South Egremont, in the Berkshires.
