The front of the jug is inscribed 'Hourrah Your Serene Highness ! !' above a scene titled 'Conflagration of Moscow, seen from the Kremlin on the 14th September 1812'; one side inscribed 'Specimen of Russian Chopping Blocks' above a Russian attacking a French soldier with an axe, below inscribed 'So you'r the last ! says this brave honest man, Now Nap return to Russia if you can'; the other side a Russian peasant carrying diminutive French soldiers hanging from his musket above the inscription 'A Russian boor returning from his field sports'; also with Cyrillic inscriptions.
